Mesmerizing Narrative Illustrations Champion a World of Wonders (and Beyond)

Port­land-based cre­ative Yas Ima­mu­ra is an illus­tra­tor whose work has graced prod­ucts (you might know her shop, Quill & Fox) and pic­ture books—the lat­ter she is focus­ing on now. Her nar­ra­tive illus­tra­tions, craft­ed with gouache and water­col­or, often fea­ture por­traits of pop cul­ture as well as scenes with a fan­tas­ti­cal feel. Even the images that are ground­ed in real­i­ty have a sense of won­der about them thanks to her a rich col­or palette and a style that mar­ries metic­u­lous details with areas of ges­tur­al strokes.
