Portland-based creative Yas Imamura is an illustrator whose work has graced products (you might know her shop, Quill & Fox) and picture books—the latter she is focusing on now. Her narrative illustrations, crafted with gouache and watercolor, often feature portraits of pop culture as well as scenes with a fantastical feel. Even the images that are grounded in reality have a sense of wonder about them thanks to her a rich color palette and a style that marries meticulous details with areas of gestural strokes.
