The next time you find yourself in Joshua Tree, California, hold off on going to the National Park (for a little while). Instead, pop on over to the World Famous Crochet Museum, a former photo-processing booth that sits in the back of a vacant lot near the Joshua Tree Saloon. Shari Elf, a crochet fanatic and collector for 30 years, purchased the space and painted it lime green. She filled it with her collection of afghans and amigurumi characters that range from cute stuffed turtles to mermaids to more abstract pieces.

The World Famous Crochet Museum is free! (And a great photo op. Just check out Instagram.) I have not been lucky enough to go here (yet), but believe me. It is on my list for the next time I find myself in the area.
