Sara Plante­fève-Cas­tryck­’s tex­tiles look like paint­ings. That’s because paint­ing is part of her process. If you check out her Tum­blr, you’ll see that she trans­lates her col­or­ful works on paper to fab­ric and knits. The result is a vari­a­tion of tex­tures and tones, giv­ing them the appear­ance of being indi­vid­u­al­ly craft­ed. See­ing an artist/designer’s hand makes us feel more con­nect­ed to works like these, despite them being mass produced.
