Are you in need of something fun to try at home? If you’re an embroiderer who is looking to switch things up, try punch needle! It’s a form of embroidery that is similar to rug hooking. Instead of bringing your needle through the fabric, you’ll use the special punch needle to push yarn (or thread) through it. The whole time, you hold the device above the “right” side of the fabric.
You can get a punch needle at your local craft store—or, considering what’s possible now—various places online. (Etsy is a great resource.)
Once you have your supplies, find a pattern to stitch! It can be daunting with all the choices out there, but I’ve narrowed down 16 of my favorite punch needle kits and patterns.
