Melis­sa Rossi Flesh­er cre­ates quirky, effort­less draw­ings of ani­mals and people—but she does­n’t stop there. Each of her thin-lined sketch­es is only com­plete once they have a piece of nature added to them. Melis­sa will incor­po­rate flow­ers, feath­ers, blades of grass, and even pinecones into her draw­ings. These real objects, with their exquis­ite details, add a wel­come dimen­sion­al­i­ty to her work; they give way to sil­ly hats, majes­tic manes, and new modes of transportation.
