Hello Tangle is a collaboration between two sisters named Bibi and Veronica from Melbourne, Australia. Together, they create colorful, texture-filled weavings. But lately, they’ve ventured into Hello Trinkets —beaded creations that you can hang in various places.
These small, abstract pieces are feasts for the eyes. They feature layers of beading, embroidery stitches, and of course, bright color! As I embark on my own 1 Year of Stitches project, this sculptural approach to textiles is a fantastic source of inspiration.
This sort of crafting is in Bibi and Veronica’s blood. In an interview with The Weaving Loom, Bibi explains:
Our mum has always been a knitter and hand quilter and has always encouraged us to be crafty. We could never find any books or materials on weaving so we taught ourselves, originally experimenting with homemade cardboard looms and our mum’s knitting wool and cooking/household twine.
That’s a nice reminder that you don’t need to have a bunch of fancy materials to create great work—just get started.
Bibi and Veronica sell their work in the Hello Tangle Etsy shop.
