Illustrator Haley Tippman depicts people in the midst of work, commuting, and at rest—with a twist. Thanks to her muted color palette and gestural brushstrokes, her style evokes the feeling that these images are memories, distant or otherwise. The hues signify that the recollections are fading and that while not completely out of reach, they seem further away. I’m sure that not all of these scenes are supposed to be of memories, but I can’t help but feel a twang of nostalgia while I look at them.

Haley sells her work as prints, apparel, tote bags, and more through Society6. You can follow her work in progress (and process) on Instagram.
