I have long been a fan of Ginette Lapalme’s work. She’s been creating jewelry, stickers, and buttons for quite some time and selling them through her Etsy.
Ginette’s work always made me feel this incredible sense of nostalgia, and for the longest time I couldn’t figure out why. I knew it was something with the eyes. Finally, I realized that the eyes she adorns her characters are reminiscent of a favorite childhood toy, Pound Puppies. I doubt that’s Ginette’s own reference, but it’s what I bring to the proverbial table when I look at her work.
