So, it’s back to business. When I was at SPX last fall, I bought a print from Celine Loup, Snake Awareness Day:
And I love it! Celine writes that her aesthetics are informed by vintage lifestyle photography, Swedish electronic music, and French comic books. These influences create work that is very narrative, and often intricately layered in line, texture, and meaning. I most enjoy Celine’s illustrations when they are very line-heavy, like the first two illustrations below.
