11 Inspiring Ceramic Artists to Follow on Instagram

It’s the final stop on my unof­fi­cial “Insta­gram tour” that high­lights some of my favorite feeds worth your fol­low. So far, I’ve high­light­ed paper artists, illus­tra­tors, embroi­dery artists, and sketch­books that are inspire me—and others—with their incred­i­ble artistry. Last but not least, I’m chron­i­cling some of the best ceram­ic artists on Instagram.

Ceram­ics have often elud­ed me. Grow­ing up, I was nev­er great at throw­ing on the pot­tery wheel and think­ing in the 3D does­n’t come nat­u­ral­ly to me. Per­haps that’s where my fas­ci­na­tion with the medi­um lies—I’m often in awe at what these cre­ative folks pro­duce. Illus­tra­tion lends itself espe­cial­ly well to clay; some of my favorites com­bine its nar­ra­tive qual­i­ties with prac­ti­cal­i­ty (like ceram­ic home­wares) to cre­ate one-of-a-kind homewares.
