Alana Dee Haynes’ Illustration on Photographs

Alana Dee Haynes is an artist work­ing with pho­tog­ra­phy and draw­ing. Using pho­tog­ra­phy you might find in a fash­ion mag­a­zine, she draws pat­terns, crea­tures, and tex­tures on top of the pho­to­graph. Doing so gives them anoth­er sto­ry and enhances the nar­ra­tive of what the images don’t show.

Some­times, Alana will clothe a nude mod­el. Oth­er times, she draws very intri­cate tat­toos on skin, reveal­ing a whole oth­er world with her draw­ings. The well-con­sid­ered place­ment and adorn­ment of these pho­tographs cre­ates har­mo­nious works.
