This Illustrative Nail Art Turns Your Hand Into a Moving Gallery

Illus­tra­tion can exist any­where. Why not your nails? Audrey, aka @audrey_swatches, cre­ates impos­si­bly tiny nail art that is mas­ter­ful minia­ture paint­ings. The amount of detail she achieves is incred­i­ble, and when she’s done your hand is a mov­ing art gallery. (And trag­i­cal­ly, a fleet­ing one, too.)

I first saw Audrey’s work on her Insta­gram, where she had a client show­ing her nails. Each fin­ger is a dif­fer­ent paint­ing fea­tur­ing flow­ers, a worm, a snail, and even a duck and but­ter­fly. “I tend not to col­lect lit­tle knick­knacks because I very quick­ly get over­whelmed with any kind of visu­al or phys­i­cal clut­ter,” she writes of this set. “But! My heart has walls that are cov­ered in lit­tle framed paint­ings and pinned insects and pressed flow­ers.” And now they cov­er a set of nails.
