I am a lit­tle late to the Tik­Tok game, but I’ve final­ly got my For You Page togeth­er and have been hav­ing a lot of fun find­ing new accounts to follow—particularly in the art and embroi­dery world. One of my favorite accounts is @hanndubb, aka Han; she’s a stitch­er in the midst of a dai­ly embroi­dery project and is shar­ing her jour­ney through TikTok.

Han has stretched fab­ric across a large embroi­dery hoop and stitched “2021” in the mid­dle of it. Around the “2021,” she is embroi­der­ing all sorts of motifs sug­gest­ed by the Tik­Tok com­mu­ni­ty. They range from paint palettes to skate­boards to fruit and much more. Some requests coin­cide with hol­i­days and social movements.
