Happy Halloween! It’s one of my favorite holidays. I love seeing costumes and eating a ton of candy. I also enjoy all of the things that happen around Halloween, like apple picking, cooler temperatures, and pumpkin and cider tasting things.
Earlier this month, I started a gig as a blogger for the art website, Beautiful/Decay. It’s a lot of fun. The content is different from Brown Paper Bag, so if you are interested, I implore you to take a look at some of the things I’m sharing on there.
That being said, this is the one day when it is going to overlap. On B/D, I wrote about The Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze, a Halloween event that takes place in Sleepy Hollow County in New York. It features over 5,000 hand-carved pumpkins, and transforms the jack o’ lanterns into sculptures. This includes giant spiders, a sea monster, a doomsday grandfather clock, and more. It looks incredible, and I’m sad that I don’t live near enough to visit. Luckily for me, folks on Flickr took photos for me and the rest of the jealous non-attenders. Check out some of my favorites. Click through on the picture to see who took it.
