I first became acquainted with the funky fashion of La Vidriola last year. Charolette Jacobs, a woman who has given me serious outfit envy, rocks many of their limited edition statement necklaces in her wardrobe and I had to know more.
La Vidriola is the collective brainchild of Pablo Nieto and Blanca Calabuig. They design pieces that are wearable sculptures; my favorites are small scenes that tell a story. From tropical wildlife to swirling waters, Pablo and Blanca work them into large and colorful compositions. Made from acrylic, the semitransparent elements are cut individually and assembled by hand. Each hangs from an adjustable chain and sits flat against your chest.
La Vidriola sells their necklaces—along with equally-as-fun earrings, rings, and bracelets—through their online shop.
